Quick guide
Which film is right for you?
There are two main installation methods for automotive window film. Choose according to how permanent you want the result to be and how experienced you are with installation.
The easiest option
Removable window film
No permanent adhesive and more forgiving during installation. A good choice for beginners and for anyone who wants to remove and reinstall the film. Removable window film offers good optical quality for this type of film. Because it has no permanent adhesive, the view from inside is normally not as crystal clear as with self-adhesive professional film.
Ideal for you if you: prioritise easy installation and flexibility.
The most permanent option
Professional window film
Self-adhesive film with very high optical clarity and a durable surface. Requires precise technique and often needs to be heat-shaped on strongly curved windows.
Ideal for you if you: have installed film before or want a permanent result.

Protective & architectural film
Headlight film, paint protection film and architectural film are designed differently and for different uses. Always choose a film intended for the surface in question.
Not sure? Ask us about the surface, glass type and desired protection.

Good to know about tint levels VLT indicates the proportion of visible light that passes through the film. A high VLT value produces a lighter tint, while a low VLT value produces a darker tint. Expressions such as “70% tint” can be interpreted in different ways – always check the VLT value stated for the product.

01 · Choice & appearance
Choose the right window film
Question 01
Which window film should I choose?
Answer
Choose removable window film if you are installing film for the first time or want to be able to remove and reinstall it. Choose professional window film if you have installation experience and prioritise a permanent result with the highest possible optical clarity. If you are unsure, we will gladly help based on your car model, the windows you want to tint and your level of experience.

Question 02
What is the difference between removable and self-adhesive professional film?
Answer
Removable film has no permanent adhesive and is more forgiving during installation. Its main advantage is that it is easy to handle and can normally be removed, cleaned and installed again. The compromise is that the view from inside the car is not as crystal clear as through self-adhesive professional film. Immediately after installation, the film may also appear slightly hazy until the application fluid has dried. Professional film is installed permanently, requires greater precision and provides the highest optical clarity. If the clearest possible view is your priority, we recommend professional film. Question 03
Is removable window film the same as a rigid plastic panel?
Answer
No. SOYAFILM® removable window film is a thin, flexible film material installed directly against the glass using application fluid. It uses a different product principle from moulded or rigid tinted plastic panels.

Question 04
Should I choose pre-cut film or film by the metre?
Answer
Pre-cut film reduces the need for trimming at the vehicle and is the most convenient choice for most DIY installers. Film by the metre is best if you want to cut it yourself, are working on a custom project or have experience making templates and trimming film.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 05
How do I choose the right tint level?
Answer
Consider how dark you want the car to look, how much privacy you want and how important visibility in the dark is to you. A higher VLT means a lighter film, while a lower VLT means a darker film. Remember that the vehicle’s original glass also affects the final result.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 06
Does the darkest film always provide the best heat protection?
Answer
Not necessarily. Tint level and heat reduction are two different properties. The film’s construction and technical performance are at least as important as how dark it looks. Compare the product specifications and feel free to ask us if heat reduction is your main priority.

02 · Installation & care
Achieve a great-looking result
Question 07
Can I install the window film myself?
Question 08
Which tools do I need?
Answer
You will usually need a spray bottle, the correct application fluid, a squeegee, clean microfibre cloths and good lighting. Professional film may also require a heat gun and additional specialist tools. Check the product description to see what is included in your kit and what needs to be ordered separately.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 09
Why are there bubbles or a milky appearance after installation?
Answer
Small pockets of moisture or slight haziness may remain while the application fluid dries. This usually reduces gradually, and drying takes longer in cold or humid weather. Hard spots that do not change may be caused by dust or fibres between the film and glass.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 10
How do I avoid dust and dirt beneath the film?
Answer
Work in a draught-free area that is as free from dust as possible. Clean the glass, edges, seals and work surface thoroughly, use clean hands and lint-free clothing, and keep the film well moistened during installation. Removable film can normally be lifted, rinsed and reinstalled if dirt has become trapped underneath.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 11
Does window film need to be heat-shaped?
Answer
Removable film does not normally need heat shaping. Self-adhesive professional film often needs to be shaped on the outside of strongly curved windows, particularly rear windows, before being installed on the inside. Always follow the instructions for the type of film you ordered.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 12
Can I use the rear-window defroster?
Answer
Yes, once the film has been installed correctly and allowed to dry as instructed. Take care when cleaning: work gently in the direction of the heating elements and do not use sharp tools.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 13
When can I lower a tinted side window?
Answer
Wait until the film has adhered and dried according to the installation instructions for the product. Lowering the window too soon may move or damage the upper edge.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 14
How do I clean window film?
Answer
Use a soft microfibre cloth and a mild cleaner suitable for window film. Avoid razor blades, abrasive sponges, scouring agents and strong chemicals. Ask us if you are unsure whether a cleaner is suitable.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 15
Can removable window film really be reused?
Answer
Yes, provided it is removed carefully and kept clean. Rinse it if necessary and store it flat or as specified in the instructions, protected from creases, dirt and sharp edges.

03 · Rules & use
What is permitted?
Question 16
Can I have window film on the windscreen and front side windows in Sweden?
Answer
Windows within the driver’s field of vision must meet the legal light-transmission requirements: at least 75% for the windscreen and at least 70% for another window within the field of vision. Because the vehicle’s original glass is often already tinted, additional film may reduce the combined light transmission below the legal limit. Always check the rules for the vehicle and the country in which it is used.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 17
Is tinting on the front doors permitted simply because the film is removable?
Answer
No. The fact that a film is easy to remove does not change the rules that apply when the vehicle is used on public roads. The decisive factor is the combined light transmission through the glass and film.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 18
Can I install tinted or coloured film on headlights?
Answer
The vehicle’s lights must retain the correct function, brightness and colour under the applicable rules. Tinted or coloured film may affect these properties. Always check what is permitted for the vehicle and use protective film in a way that does not impair the lighting.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 19
Do the same rules apply in every country?
Answer
No. Requirements for vehicle glass, tint levels and lighting can vary between countries. It is the vehicle owner’s responsibility to check the rules where the car will be used.

04 · Protection & buildings
The right film for the right surface
Question 20
What is the difference between headlight film and paint protection film?
Answer
Both are protective films, but they are intended for different surfaces and requirements. Headlight film must be compatible with the lamp’s material and shape, while paint protection film is designed for painted surfaces. Always use the product on the surface specified in its description.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 21
Can protective film conceal existing scratches or stone chips?
Answer
Protective film is primarily intended to reduce the risk of new damage. It does not repair deep scratches, cracks or stone chips. The surface must be clean, stable and in suitable condition before installation.

Question 22
Can I use automotive window film on building windows?
Answer
Choose architectural film designed for building glass. Automotive glass and building glass have different constructions and loads. Using the wrong film or installing it on the wrong side may create a risk of thermal stress in the glass.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 23
Which architectural film is suitable for my glass?
Answer
This depends on whether the glass is single-glazed, insulated, laminated or toughened, and whether the film will be installed on the inside or outside. Contact us with the glass type, approximate dimensions and the problem you want to solve before ordering.

05 · Ordering & fit
From car model to delivery
Question 24
Can you check registration numbers from across Europe?
Answer
Yes. We check both Swedish and other European registration numbers to identify the car model and vehicle details. We then match the order to the correct version. Always state the country in which the car is registered. If the vehicle has several body or glass options, is imported or has replacement windows, we may need additional information.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 25
I cannot find my car or the correct window – what should I do?
Answer
Contact us with the registration number and country of registration, or provide the make, model, year, body style and the windows you need. Please send a photo if the car has an unusual body style, an additional window or special equipment. We will help you check the options before ordering.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 26
How do I check the fit before installation?
Answer
Always check that the film, car model and window are correct before installation. If the fit looks uncertain, place the film against the outside of the clean window with any protective liner still in place, then photograph the complete window and its edges. Do not install or cut the film until we have helped you assess it.

Question 27
Can I change or cancel an order?
Answer
Contact us immediately. Standard products can often be changed before dispatch. Pre-cut or made-to-measure products may enter production shortly after the order is placed, after which changes or cancellation may be limited. We will always check what is possible in your particular case.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 28
How do I track my delivery?
Answer
Once the shipment has been booked, tracking information is normally sent by email or text message. Please also check your spam folder. If the tracking does not update or the delivery exceeds the stated delivery time, contact us with your order number and we will help you.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 29
The parcel or product arrived damaged – what should I do?
Answer
Photograph the outer packaging, shipping label, inner packaging and damaged product before discarding anything. Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos, and we will help you take the matter forward.

06 · Returns, complaints & discounts
Peace of mind before and after your purchase
Question 30
Do I have a right of withdrawal?
Answer
As a private customer, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal when purchasing standard products at a distance. Exceptions may apply to products that are cut, manufactured or adapted to your individual choices, such as made-to-measure film. The rules that apply to your product are stated in the product information and our
terms and conditions.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 31
Do sale or discounted products have fewer statutory complaint rights?
Answer
No. As a private customer, you have the same statutory rights even if the product was discounted. However, if the price was reduced because of a clearly stated defect, you normally cannot complain about the specific defect you were told about before the purchase. A lawful exception from the right of withdrawal may still apply to individually customised products.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 32
How do I return a product?
Answer
Contact us before sending the product so that you receive the correct return address and instructions, and so that we can distinguish a return from a complaint. Do not send it cash on delivery or to a collection point. You do not need to wait for approval before notifying us that you are exercising a statutory right of withdrawal, but the return conditions must be followed.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 33
How do I make a complaint about a product?
Answer
Contact us with your order number, a clear description and photos showing the product, the defect and, where relevant, the fit. As a private customer in Sweden, you have a three-year statutory right to complain about original defects. Do not install, cut or discard the product before we have had an opportunity to assess the matter. We will respond with the next steps.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 34
I ordered the wrong product or received the wrong item – what should I do?
Answer
Contact us before installing or cutting the product. If we sent the wrong item, we will help correct the order and provide instructions for any return. If you selected the wrong product, we will check the available options based on its condition and whether it is a standard or customised item.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 35
Can a discount code be added after purchase?
Answer
Discount codes must normally be entered at checkout before the order is completed and cannot be combined or applied retrospectively. If you have trouble with a valid code, contact us before paying and we will help you.
↑ Back to the question overview
Question 36
Do the same purchasing rules apply to business customers?
Answer
No. Consumer protection law applies when a private individual purchases from a business. For purchases made for a company, the terms and rules applicable to business purchases apply instead.
